Workshops
Brain gym

Brain Gym is a set of activities that are quick to perform, fun, and fill us with energy. These activities are designed to help us think, reflect, or move to our best potential. It stimulates the flow of information in the nervous system and functional centers of the brain, unleashes innate learning skills and allows us to achieve maximum functioning.
Choir workshop

GENERAL OBJECTIVE AND SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
Help people with aphasia to pronounce words better and help them communicate better

This workshop gives organizations and / or individuals the opportunity to present their offer of services that can improve the quality of life of people with aphasia and their families. They are a team who can meet their needs and provide relevant information on topical issues.
Dinner meeting
MAIN OBJECTIVE:
Monthly socialization activity that allows aphasic members to talk to each other over a meal
Language workshop

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
Stimulate and maintain the language skills already acquired in speech therapy rehabilitation
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
- Get in touch with other people with aphasia by conversing with them informally
- Stimulate and maintain listening, reading and writing skills
- Stimulate and maintain compensatory comprehension skills (use gestures or draw to be understood)
- Respect the rules of group conversation (eye contact, expressing our misunderstandings, repeating the sentence if it is not understood)
- Equip caregivers with aphasia and techniques for better communication with the person with aphasia
Theater
(under the responsibility of the Théâtre aphasiac de Montréal)
MAIN OBJECTIVE:
Develop the potential for verbal and body expression through physical exercises, skits, role plays, improvisations
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
- Directing spontaneous expression
- Regain confidence in your ability to express yourself
- Promote memorization work
- Develop creativity
- Develop fine motor skills
- Encourage the expression of feelings
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Drama show
- Coffee maker on the 5th anniversary
- Park bench for the 10th anniversary
- Presentation of scenes at Christmas celebrations
Word and memory games

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
Boost self-confidence by working in groups looking for words, definitions
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
- Work on memory
- Stimulate the search and / or definition of words in the dictionary
- Promote reading
- Take on challenges
Develop teamwork
Writing
MAIN OBJECTIVE:
Help the person with aphasia reconnect with written language through basic correspondence exercises
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
- Fill out forms
- Write a check
- Read administrative instructions, direction signs
- Read and write a letter to a friend
